Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join our machining team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines, ensuring components are produced to the required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to support and guide machine operators where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning and milling machines to meet production requirements.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as required during machining operations.
- Interpret and work from engineering and technical drawings to ensure accurate production.
- Maintain strict quality control, ensuring components meet specified tolerances and finish standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections and take corrective actions where deviations occur.
- Train and support machine operators to ensure consistent production quality.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance requirements.
- Assist with basic programming or editing of CNC machine programmes (advantageous, not essential).
Requirements
Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines.
- Experience with Doosan Puma machines with live tooling is highly advantageous.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
- Competence in performing tool offsets and adjustments.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge is beneficial but not essential.
