Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager in electrical, instrumentation, and control (EC&I) systems to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the mining and industrial sector. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of project execution, from conceptual and detailed designs to construction, commissioning, and integration, ensuring compliance with company standards and project specifications.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage conceptual, basic, and detailed EC&I designs, ensuring integration with civil, process, and mechanical disciplines.
  • Oversee PLC/SCADA system integration, construction management, and commissioning of all EC&I aspects of projects.
  • Develop project management plans, coordinate tasks, resources, stakeholders, and project variables.
  • Develop and manage project scopes using WBS.
  • Create, manage, and monitor project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Estimate project costs, create budgets/CBEs, and manage costs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop (QCPs) and oversee quality assurance throughout the project life cycle.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Manage procurement activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure all EC&I projects comply with SANS standards, ARM/Khumani standards, specifications, and design criteria.
  • Apply and enforce ARM/Khumani testing and commissioning procedures on all projects.

Qualifications and experience:

  • National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; BTech/BEng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ industrial experience in a mining or plant environment, including at least 6 years in a project management role.
  • Proven experience in EPC/EPCM project execution with a strong track record.
  • Valid EC1 driver’s license (Code 10).
