Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Manage day-to-day IR matters and provide reports to Head Office on a monthly basis
- Manage disciplinary processes under the project and provide outcome report to Head Office for final approval
- Represent the company at CCMA conciliation/arbitration or Labour Court proceedings where required, or appoint and manage external representation
- Own the relationship with any trade unions or employee representative structures, including negotiation mandates
- Escalate material IR risk to Redheads Engineering senior management and, where relevant, to the client's contract steerer
- Approve payroll and benefits processes prepared by the HR Assistant; accountable for their accuracy and legislative compliance (BCEA, COIDA, UIF), ensuring compliance with MIBCO
- Process payroll on the payroll management system on a monthly basis
- Provide the pay run to Head Office for payment on a monthly basis
- Provide all payroll documentation to Head Office for verification of payroll
- Responsible for the calculation and processing of all MIBCO-related benefits
- Act as the primary HR-side point of contact for the client on workforce matters raised at the monthly KPI review meetings, including tenure-rate and training-certification performance
- Own the escalation response when workforce tenure or training-certification compliance triggers the contract's escalation clauses, and drive the corrective action plan back to de-escalation
- Sign off the monthly indirect workforce overview submitted to the client
- Approve the site's training matrix, certification framework, and workforce ramp-up/ramp-down plans
- Own workforce planning across the contract, including scaling associated with contract volume changes and any multi-site or multi-shift considerations
- Set recruitment standards and approve role requirements for indirect and direct positions
- Drive tenure and retention strategy, including the structured step-up training approach required under the client contract
- Maintain skills matrix of staff
- Ensure staff on site have required training
- Ensure staff on site fulfil all requirements (client requirements and in-house requirements) to conduct work
- Follow full recruitment of workforce in line with the set-out vetting and assessment process
- Maintain a sufficiently sized pool of pre-qualified candidates that can be mobilised at short notice
- Mobilise staff at short notice when required
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Human Resource Management or Labour Relations
- MIBCO course will be advantageous
- At least 8 years' HR experience with at least 3 years at management level, ideally within automotive, manufacturing, or industrial/labour-intensive services (labour broker/TES exposure is advantageous given the indirect-workforce model)
- Extensive experience with MIBCO payroll management
- Demonstrated experience managing HR for a multi-shift workforce of 100+ employees, including budget accountability
- Experience managing a client-facing HR relationship within a service contract (SLA/KPI-driven environment) is strongly preferred
- Expert working knowledge of the LRA, BCEA, Employment Equity Act, COIDA, Skills Development Act and POPIA
- Experience capturing payroll on payroll systems such as (Simple Pay, Pay Space, Sage, etc.)
- Proven CCMA/Labour Court representation or case-management experience at a senior level
- MIBCO – Extensive knowledge with regard to the main agreement of MIBCO and RMI
- Confident, credible stakeholder manager – up to senior client and internal executive level
- People leadership – demonstrated ability to build and manage an HR team

Note: This position will be stationed in Rosslyn at the client's premises; own transport is advisable.
