Job Description

Provides immediate, operational supplier quality support at the production line and adjacent areas (line-side, yard, rework zones). Acting as a representative of our client’s supplier quality department, the role ensures rapid containment, qualification and decision-making on potential supplier-liable quality topics to protect production, including off-shift operations when required.

 

Line-Side Response & Containment
•    Meet the KPI response time: arrival at the sensor within 15 minutes of ticket release.
•    Perform immediate line-side containment and quality assessment of NOK situations to protect production flow.

Quality Assessment & Decision-Making
•    Review and troubleshoot potential supplier-liable quality issues as the representative on behalf of the client.
•    Assess and qualify supplier-liable quality topics line-side.
•    Decide on acceptance or rejection of quality topics in alignment with QSPs and individual expertise.
•    Validate defects on vehicles (e.g. line, yard and hold areas).

Supplier Rework Coordination
•    Coordinate, monitor and direct supplier representatives during approved on-site rework and sorting.
•    Support defect rework confirmation before vehicle release.

Documentation & Escalation
•    Document decisions, containment actions and outcomes in the agreed systems of the company and the client.
•    Create work instructions for sorting and rework actions.
•    Trigger escalation where containment or response targets are not met.

Production Alignment & Ad-Hoc Support
•    Synchronise all activities with the client production programme and shift model.
•    Perform ad-hoc support tasks as defined by client (e.g. escorting guests, supporting audits or special checks
•    Comply with defined client response and attendance KPIs, including support outside regular hours (late / night / weekend).

Qualifications:

·    Minimum Matric (Grade 12).
·    National Certificate (N4–N6) or Diploma in Engineering or Quality Management is an advantage.
·    Formal training in quality containment or problem-solving methods is an advantage

Experience:

·    Minimum 2 years’ experience in line-side quality containment within automotive series production.
·    Experience coordinating supplier sorting and rework activities on site.

Knowledge:

·    Containment processes (check, sort, rework) and defect validation on vehicles.
·    Automotive vehicle quality standards and supplier liability principles.
·    Escalation processes within a series production environment.
·    Basic SAP system documentation; MS Office proficiency.
