Job Description

Redheads Engineering Solutions is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced CAE Engineer to join our client's team. Our client specialises in cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions, and this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the optimisation of industrial furnaces using advanced computer simulations and CAE tools.

Job Function:

The CAE Engineer will play a crucial role in analysing and optimising the performance of industrial furnaces through computer simulations and CAE tools. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary engineering team, the incumbent will contribute valuable insights to improve furnace designs.

Key responsibilities include conducting thermal and structural analyses, fluid dynamics simulations, and validating designs against industry standards and customer specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Proven experience as a CAE Engineer or similar role, preferably in the furnace design engineering industry.
  • Experience in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus.
  • Project engineering experience is advantageous.

Knowledge Required:

  • Solid understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes relevant to furnace design and performance.
  • Knowledge of materials science and their behavior at high temperatures.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Windows, and familiarity with license server administration.
  • CAD/Parametric/Direct modeling fundamentals are a must. Autodesk Inventor and Ansys SpaceClaim experience is a plus.

Skills Required:

  • Strong proficiency in using CAE tools and software such as ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and analyze complex data.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Adaptable, takes initiative, and can work independently.

The CAE Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Utilising CAE tools and simulations for thermal and structural analysis of furnace designs.
  • Conducting fluid dynamics simulations for flow optimisation and heat transfer efficiency.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team on innovative furnace design concepts.
  • Evaluating and validating designs against industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Generating detailed reports to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
  • Participating in design reviews and providing insights for improvements.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing and commissioning teams for successful implementation.
  • Staying updated on the latest advancements in CAE tools and industry best practices.
  • Providing technical support during the manufacturing and commissioning phases.
  • Collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements.

The salary for this role is around R 780 000 - R 900 000 pa CTC Negotiable
