Job Description

Redheads Engineering Solutions is seeking a dynamic Project Manager/Project Engineer for a prominent client in the construction sector.

Location: Cape Town & Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee and efficiently utilise resources for various projects to meet predefined requirements. As the primary liaison between clients and headquarters, you'll need to be cognisant of all decisions affecting project outcomes, including budget, production, quality, and schedule adherence. Your responsibilities will span across the contractual, commercial, engineering, financial, and administrative domains.

 Minimum Requirements:

  • The ideal candidates will hold a minimum of a National Diploma/BTech/BSc in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) and/or Construction/Project Management.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer Technician with ECSA and as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr.CPM) at SACPCMP is essential, along with familiarity with NEC/FIDIC/JBCC contracts.

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction, engineering, or consulting, including 5 years in a managerial capacity, is required.

Requirements:

  • Project Management: Ensure timely and cost-effective project completion while maintaining quality standards.
  • Project Delivery: Oversee projects from initiation to closure, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.

  • Technical Guidance: Provide expertise and direction to project team members.

  • Engineering and Logistics: Manage engineering, logistics, and commissioning activities.

  • Inspections: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication and resolution of project-related issues.

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project/contract managers to define project scope and plan accordingly.

  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks.

  • People Management: Recruit, train, and manage project staff according to company policies.

  • Project Finance: Monitor project expenditures, manage funds, and prepare financial reports.

  • Technical and Design: Ensure technical compliance and facilitate product testing.

  • Business Development: Contribute to tendering processes and ensure compliance with technical requirements.

  • Contractual and Commercial: Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and manage associated risks.
