Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Manager: New Markets to lead the development of innovative, multi-technology energy solutions and business models, influence policy, and drive strategic growth in the renewable energy space. Requires expertise in energy markets, strong commercial acumen, and leadership in regulatory engagement.

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy Development:

  • Develop a market entry strategy to participate in an unbundled energy market
  • Create multi-technology offerings (Wind, Solar, BESS) to optimise customer value
  • Lead the development of a 5–10-year asset deployment strategy in collaboration with external advisors
  • Identify pricing, technology, and policy gaps to maintain competitive advantage
  • Support business development and bid teams on tenders and strategic execution
  • Build a compelling business case for an aggregator and private storage solutions

 

Contracting & Financial Structuring:

  • Develop multi-buyer, multi-tenor contracting models
  • Structure project portfolios that accommodate various contract durations and uncontracted revenue streams
  • Engage with stakeholders (finance, legal, technical) to define risk-balanced tariffs
  • Feed into the development of supply agreements and financial models

 

Tools & Customer Engagement:

  • Lead development of multi-technology optimisation tools and business cases
  • Design niche solutions tailored to specific customer needs and variable demand profiles
  • Manage and validate assumptions in the PPA merchant model and ToU offerings
  • Conduct scenario modelling to quantify risks and optimise PPA offerings

 

Policy, Legislation & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Analyse and apply electricity market codes to shape entry strategy
  • Monitor and report on relevant regulations (e.g., ERA, wheeling, RECs, CBAM, Carbon Tax)
  • Represent the company at policy forums, lead external engagements, and position the brand as a regulatory thought leader
  • Drive internal excellence in green value creation and compliance

 

General Tasks:

  • Represent the company in regulatory and industry stakeholder events
  • Lead strategy sessions and advisor engagements
  • Develop and manage annual budgets
  • Present strategies and product offerings to senior management
  • Support bid and sales teams with key submissions

 

Requirements & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • Proven experience in the renewable energy industry with understanding of market reform, policy, and tariffs
  • Excellent financial and analytical modelling skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency or similar modelling tools
  • Strong commercial insight with the ability to link technical, financial, and legal considerations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Able to handle pressure and manage multiple competing demands
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong ethical standards
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with exceptional time management skills
  • Team player with international exposure and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
