Job Description

We are seeking senior engineering role responsible for leading renewable energy projects, including team management, client liaison, technical oversight, and plant optimisation across solar, wind, hydro, and green hydrogen technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Leadership:

• Lead renewable engineering projects and implement optimisation strategies.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies and plant performance improvements.
• Oversee engineering teams and ensure technical compliance with legislation.
• Provide mechanical engineering input across multiple sites.
• Interface with clients, EPC contractors, regulators, and funders.
• Drive innovation in turbine and generator systems.

Project & Business Unit Management:

• Manage Northern Cape project delivery and act as the regional business unit lead.
• Support EPCM activities for plant upgrades or conversions.
• Prepare technical proposals and client documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Liaise with government, international finance bodies, EPCs, and technology suppliers.
• Ensure all engineering work aligns with safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering
• Postgraduate Diploma in Power Plant Engineering
• MSc in turbomachinery or renewables (preferred)
• Registered or eligible with ECSA as Pr.Eng or Pr.TechEng

Experience:

• 8+ years in power generation engineering
• 3+ years in renewable energy projects
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of CSP, turbines, generators, and plant systems
• EPCM, asset performance analysis, or digital platform exposure
• Familiar with SANS, PER, and SHE standards
