Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with expertise in automotive manufacturing, quality systems, and process optimisation. The role involves ensuring compliance, improving product quality, and working shifts to meet customer expectations while supporting continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Product Quality Improvement

  • Analyse production processes to identify quality improvement opportunities.
  • Implement corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.

2. Process Optimisation

  • Review and refine manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Apply SPC, FMK, and work measurement techniques to monitor performance.
  • Introduce process innovations to improve throughput and reduce waste.

3. Compliance with Quality Systems

  • Ensure adherence to quality system requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with compliance standards.

4. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for operational improvement using data analysis.
  • Drive initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Minimum:

  • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering (NQF Level 6).
  • TQM Certificate.
  • Minimum 2 years’ quality experience in the automotive environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ manufacturing experience in the automotive environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ exposure to SPC / FMK techniques.

Advantageous:

  • Toolmaking experience.
