Job Description

We are seeking a Financial Manager with experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and cost control within a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on IFRS compliance, warehouse analytics, stock control, and stakeholder engagement, providing insights and solutions to support operational and strategic decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control financial operations of CDC and XCE businesses.
  • Ensure financial systems and structures are in place and compliant.
  • Set and achieve financial targets.
  • Maintain integrity and completeness of financial records per IFRS.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Compile annual Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and monthly forecasts.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly financial packs, Flash, and Dash reports.
  • Conduct General Ledger reconciliations and ensure timely approvals.
  • Analyse actual vs. budget vs. forecast and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and attend monthly stock counts.
  • Conduct cycle counts for Auto, Scrap, Ind & Labels.
  • Investigate and report on variances.
  • Provide statistics and KPIs on inventory performance.
  • Benchmark metrics between branches and analyse inventory inefficiencies.
  • Recommend action plans to optimise stockholding and reporting.
  • Operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrity.
  • Identify, monitor, and report risks; maintain risk register.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations to prevent irregular expenditure.
  • Contribute to budget preparation.
  • Monitor expenditure against budgets and report deviations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Resolve problems creatively while adhering to policies and regulations.

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (NQF7)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (NQF8) with CIMA registration (advantageous)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years in accounting or a similar role in manufacturing (preferred)

Technical Competencies:

  • MS Office proficiency and discipline-specific software knowledge
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
