Purpose of the job
Perform general electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance as well as fault finding maintenance on industrial robots, project installations and robotic applications.
Key Performance Areas
- Repair and maintain robots to ensure customer and company quality standards are met
- Do fault finding and preventative maintenance as per maintenance schedule and according to job cards and relevant work instruction
- Compile feedback on time sheets to ensure accurate repair data
- Ensure that company procedures, works instructions and quality systems are adhered to at all times
- Participate actively in the departmental M2S as per company requirement
- Ensure that work practises comply with the company SHEQ procedures and works instructions
Knowledge and Skills required
- Technical techniques
- Fault finding and robots repair and maintenance KUKA and ABB
- Manufacturing processes BMW V8
- Basic understanding of quality systems
- Fault finding and maintenance presses
- Problem solving
- Communication
- Read electronic drawings
Minimum Requirements
- NQF 6
- Educational qualification: Qualified Electrician/ Millwright/ Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Robot Technician within an Automotive environment
- Extensive working knowledge of ABB and Kuka Robots
