Are you a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and a flair for crafting compelling proposals? We are looking for a Proposals Manager to join our team and lead the preparation of high-quality technical and commercial proposals in response to client inquiries, tenders, and RFQs. This is a senior-level role offering an exciting opportunity to work across engineering, finance, and HR to deliver accurate, competitive, and professionally presented submissions that support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse client specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to design cost-effective proposals
• Coordinate the end-to-end proposal process: compile documentation, cost estimates, and commercial terms
• Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Projects, and Finance to gather inputs and gain approvals
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain cost and technical data
• Ensure timely submission of compliant proposals in the correct formats
• Attend client meetings for tender clarifications and negotiations as needed
• Maintain an organised database of templates, pricing models, and historical bids
• Monitor and track submitted proposals, providing follow-up as required
• Drive continuous improvement in proposal development processes

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering. 
• 3–5 years of experience in proposals, tendering, or estimating within engineering, EPC, or industrial sectors
• Experience in the energy industry is highly advantageous

Knowledge & Skills:

• In-depth understanding of the South African industrial and energy markets
• Proficiency in pricing structures, margin analysis, and risk assessment
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with tender platforms a plus
• Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and perform under pressure
