Are you a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and a flair for crafting compelling proposals?

We are looking for a Proposals Manager to lead high-quality technical and commercial submissions for tenders, RFQs, and client inquiries. This senior role collaborates across departments to deliver accurate, competitive proposals that support business growth in the engineering and energy sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse client specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to design cost-effective proposals
  • Coordinate the end-to-end proposal process: compile documentation, cost estimates, and commercial terms
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Projects, and Finance to gather inputs and gain approvals
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain cost and technical data
  • Ensure timely submission of compliant proposals in the correct formats
  • Attend client meetings for tender clarifications and negotiations as needed
  • Maintain an organised database of templates, pricing models, and historical bids
  • Monitor and track submitted proposals, providing follow-up as required
  • Drive continuous improvement in proposal development processes

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering. 
  • 3–5 years of experience in proposals, tendering, or estimating within engineering, EPC, or industrial sectors
  • Experience in the energy industry is highly advantageous

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of the South African industrial and energy markets
  • Proficiency in pricing structures, margin analysis, and risk assessment
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with tender platforms a plus
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and perform under pressure
