Job Description
Minimum Requirements
- Namibian citizenship (non-negotiable)
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering
- 5–7 years of relevant post-graduate experience
- Proven experience in one or more of the following:
- Earthworks
- Geotechnical engineering
- Soil mechanics
- Rock engineering
Key Skills & Experience
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong experience in:
- Design of bulk earthworks
- Terracing and site shaping
- Water management systems, including:
- Canals
- Drainage infrastructure
- Hydraulic sizing and calculations
- Gravel road and workshop area design
- Tailings facilities and mine residue infrastructure
- Geometric design (roads and related civil infrastructure)
- Project concept and early-stage development (feasibility, pre-feasibility, and concept design exposure)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed civil design for earthworks, water management systems, and mine-related infrastructure
- Prepare and review technical calculations, drawings, and design reports
- Contribute to project concept development and early-stage engineering studies
- Support project planning, cost estimation, and constructability reviews
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations
Advantageous
- Experience working on mining or industrial infrastructure projects
- Exposure to tailings storage facilities or mine residue projects
- Experience working in Southern Africa or similar environments
- Registration or eligibility for professional registration (e.g., ECSA equivalent, if applicable)
