We are currently offering a thrilling opportunity for a Business Unit Manager (Energy) to pioneer the establishment and leadership of the Cape Town Branch office, driving its expansion and progress.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc Eng./ BEng/BTech) with 10 - 20 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record of 3 - 5 years in a managerial role within a consulting firm.
  • Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer/Professional Engineering Technologist.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pioneering the growth of the business by showcasing its strengths, building solid relationships with clients, potential clients, advisors, collaborators, vendors, backers, project initiators, and industry peers.
  • Orchestrating client connections and ensuring smooth communication channels.
  • Crafting compelling pitches and proposals in response to bids and requests.
  • Forming and leading a skilled team of Engineers, Technicians, Managers, Administrators, and Drafters.
  • Supervising all operational aspects, from staffing to contracts, from business expansion to client satisfaction.
  • Devising and steering Business Unit strategies to achieve both immediate goals and long-term objectives.
  • Tending to team development while upholding organizational values, policies, and ethical standards.
  • Safeguarding the financial well-being of the Business Unit.
  • Planning, executing, and overseeing internal projects.
  • Coordinating resources and subcontractors for project delivery.
  • Providing mentorship and direction to the local team members.
  • Championing the organization's ethos, values, and standing within the industry.
  • Enforcing adherence to HSE standards and the client's Quality Management System.

  • Mastery in driving business growth, sales strategies, and marketing initiatives.
  • Robust technical expertise within the Energy domain.
  • Adept at strategic planning and project management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication proficiencies.
  • Demonstrated a knack for problem-solving and fostering teamwork.
  • Skilled in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Cultivated interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking prowess.
  • Proven track record in leadership and managerial roles.
  • Ability to effectively engage with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in South Africa with personal transportation.

Desired Additional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Additional qualifications or experience in Project Management (e.g., PMP, SACPCMP).
